Kathleen LoehrMy coaching and training is grounded in more than thirty years in the nonprofit sector as a leader, fundraiser, consultant, and coach. Throughout it all, I’ve had a passion for developing leaders and effective teams. I'm a pragmatic, intuitive and relational leader who understands the complexities and demands of leading change in nonprofits. Strong, skilled and mindful leaders are a key ingredient to a nonprofit’s effectiveness in today’s demanding environment.

I partner with individual leaders and executive teams to bring a unique and highly effective method of leadership development—embodied learning. Rather than focus on leadership theory, I teach generative practices that train leaders to have a strong presence, maintain mindfulness, develop deep collaboration with colleagues and volunteers, and act effectively and decisively in any moment, regardless of the chaos or challenges. These practices lead to swift change. The result is a leader who is focused and consistent in her or his actions designed to achieve identified objectives.

Finally, I’m a known expert in the fundraising arena. I’ve been fundraising since 1979 for political campaigns, grassroots organizations, higher education and international NGOs, raising anywhere from $1m for small campaigns to $2B for Hurricane Katrina. Most recently I was the interim leader for Save The Children’s development (2010-2011), and the SVP for Development at the American Red Cross (2005-2008).

Consulting services include:
• Results-driven coaching of leaders
• Facilitation of executive teams to achieve breakthrough results
• Board and volunteer fundraising
• On-boarding coaching for new Development leaders
• Strategic fundraising consulting
• Interim leadership of development teams and nonprofit organizations

StrozziLogoELWr2The Strozzi Institute's mission is to produce leaders and teams that embody pragmatic wisdom, skillful action, and grounded compassion. My programs and coaching using the SI methodology are based on embodied learning. Embodied learning is about practicing and developing new skills to be able to take new actions that were previously unavailable. Our patterns of thought live in our bodies, and our patterns of action shape our thoughts as well. Through working with both, we are able to get the quickest, deepest, and most sustainable impact. Recent research into neuroscience and leadership gives scientific grounding for the effectiveness of embodied learning.
